Building upon the foundational knowledge introduced in Public International Law 1, this textbook - Public International Law 2 - continues to explore the essential areas of contemporary international law at an advanced level. It aims to provide learners with deeper insights into the mechanisms, institutions, and specialized branches that govern relations among states and other subjects of the international community.
The course is designed for students of law and related disciplines who have already mastered the basic concepts, principles, and sources of international law. Through this module, learners will expand their understanding of how international law operates in practice - how it regulates the sea, the environment, international organizations, dispute settlement, and the responsibility of states and other actors. The textbook also seeks to develop students’ analytical and critical thinking skills through exposure to key legal instruments, case law, and contemporary issues in international law.
