Dien Bien Phu Victory constitutes not only as a great event of the Vietnamese people in particular but a significant turning point to the national liberation movement in the colonial countries, putting an end to the long domination of French colonialism in Indochina. Over 60 years, since that historical triumph, there had been numerous books, articles analyzing and evaluating this great historical event. On the occasion of 60th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu triumph (1954 - 2014) The Information and Communication Publishing House had the honour to introduce the book entitled “Stories of Dien Bien Phu (1953 - 1954)”, compiled by Mr. Nguyen Van Khoan, PhD of History. The book embraces two parts: Part One - Stories on the other side of the battle line, Part Two - French press over Dien Bien Phu. The book also includes profound and witty articles about what happening on the other side of the frontline, especially those publications both Vietnamese and French with comments and observations about the great victory of our nation, thus bringing about a complete and comprehensive examination of Dien Bien Phu battle. The book of Dien Bien Phu is to comtribute to enriching the national archive of glorious triumphs such as well-known Bach Dang, Chi Lang, Dong Da.
